Just a few months ago we launched DSSD D5, Rack-Scale Flash solution, with game-changing all flash storage performance designed for these data intensive traditional and next generation applications. And today, we are announcing two major new capabilities in DSSD D5 that will enable customers to modernize their data centers and harness the business opportunities offered by the digital era.
In this digital era, businesses are under much greater pressure than ever to use their data strategically, accelerate data analysis and deliver insight that can drive growth. As a result, businesses are working to accelerate and optimize existing applications and develop new data-driven applications for the real-time world.
Each year, as part of EMC World, the Enterprise Content Division (ECD) hosts its annual Momentum user conference, where 1,000 customers and partners gather to share best practices, network, and hear what’s new and on the roadmap.
This year, we’ve taken the theme “BEYOND” to the extreme. From our #BeyondExcited pre-show Mo & Tim video series and extreme rock-climbing and mountain-elevated booth, to our virtual reality demo and 3D-like keynote, we’re going beyond anything we’ve done before.
But more importantly, we’re also going beyond tradition – breaking the norm for the enterprise content management (ECM) industry – and dramatically reinventing the way we support our customers and help them digitally transform.
At EMC World, Virtustream announced Virtustream Storage Cloud, a hyper scale object storage platform. While this offering may be new, the cloud itself has grown organically over the past four years. What started as a small proof-of-concept has blossomed into an enterprise-class object storage service boasting 1.78 Exabyte total capacity, supporting a Terabit per second of network ingest globally, and containing 130 billion objects.
Data protection everywhere is a fundamental requirement of the modern data center – no matter where data lives, no matter what happens. But every IT organization is in a different place in their data protection journey – some are quickly moving to a modern infrastructure-centric model, where data management and protection are tightly integrated with underlying infrastructure and applications, while the majority of organizations are still using traditional backup tools. No matter where a customer is on this journey, EMC has them covered. That’s why we’re excited about our latest innovations, launched today at EMC World 2016.
Today at EMC, we are taking a huge step forward in modernizing service and support for today’s modern data center. We are excited to announce MyService360, a personalized online service dashboard available to all of our customers. Customers are demanding more proactive, predictive, and solutions-oriented experiences, and EMC has redoubled its efforts on capabilities that will meet that demand.
