Today, Dell EMC VxRail Appliance is celebrating its first anniversary in the market. Since the initial launch, we’ve sold 8,000 VxRail nodes to customers in 78 countries. This makes VxRail the industry’s most rapidly adopted hyper-converged infrastructure appliance.
I’m pleased to announce that Dell EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud is now available on VxRail. That’s right. Our industry leading, turnkey hybrid cloud platform is now available on the only HCI appliance jointly developed with VMware and specifically optimized for VMware environments.
Today, EMC is announcing Native Hybrid Cloud, a turnkey, Pivotal Cloud Foundry Converged Platform that accelerates and simplifies cloud-native application development and deployment. It reduces the weeks and months once needed to push out new applications and features to just days or hours. With Native Hybrid Cloud, organizations gain the agility they need to accelerate business outcomes that can differentiate their organization, increase customer loyalty and grow revenue.
A recent report by IDG Research Services commissioned by EMC demonstrates the close connections between hybrid cloud computing and digital business. The report pegs hybrid cloud as the “great enabler of digital business”, but it’s more than a proven enabler. Hybrid cloud can accelerate progress and amplify the benefits of digital business initiatives. There’s a benefits “multiplier effect” when companies put more workloads in hybrid cloud and put the agility of hybrid cloud to work.
It probably goes without saying that digital business is high on corporate agendas (90% of respondents to the global IDG survey count it among their top business priorities) and, therefore, high on the agendas of CIOs and IT organizations. Consumer technologies and the Internet have altered forever the expectations of consumers and commercial customers. People and organizations expect to do business quickly, easily, anytime and anywhere. To remain competitive, companies must further digitize their processes and interactions – and deliver engaging customer experiences.
Last year we demonstrated we could build a hybrid cloud fast at EMC World. In a controlled environment with pre-planning, we did it in 48 hours. Then we proved we could plan, scope and implement it fast to customers at our Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud launch in October – in as few as 28 days. In March, VCE sped deployment even further with VCE Foundation for Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud. But standing up a hybrid cloud fast is just the start. With the newest version of Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud – version 3.0 – we enable IT organizations to add new services with ease after deployment – and deliver key updates in security and data protection so those services can be delivered with confidence.
